I have a Knight RAS forend I put on my M4 about 6 to 8 years ago. It has a fair amount of wobble on the bottom piece. This is very noticable when I have my vertical fore grip attached.

It doesn't affect how the gun shoots but I notice it...

Any way to quick fix it to keep it from moving short of running a drywall screw through it.?

I notice my Surefire rail doesn't do this. Has Knight corrected this in newer models..?

Any help on this is appreciated....

This is surprising and unfortunate. My M4 RAS fits tight and doesn't have any wobble what so ever.

yea they offer the "sas" lower portion as a seperate option. It has a screw and fingers that snug up against the barrel nut just like the upper portion has.

Mongo,

I don't mean to insult you in any way, and I expect that you've checked these, but I thought I'd throw them out there just in case:

1. You're sure the bottom piece is mounted the right direction?
2. The wobble is on the whole bottom piece and not just the VFG?  My KAC VFG wiggles loose from time to time.

It's a shame, my KAC RAS fits very snugly. HTH.

I have both the RAS and the oider RIS system on two of my rifles. The RAS is brand new has a little side to side play but the RIS old and beat up is tight as can be. I was told that it would be the other way around.

I'm having a different problem with my RAS.  For some reason it doesn't fit on my new DPMS carbine.  Does the Knight's RAS only fit on crabines with a triangular handguard cap?  That's where my pproblem seems to be.  The leaf spring doesn't fit under the lip of the circular cap.  Any thoughts?

+1 ..UK SAS were complaining of that so they got their own lower rail

Mine (fairly beat up) had a slight wiggle that I tried to tighten up with folded up
strips of aluminum foil along the mating surfaces.

Worked pretty well until I just decided to get the SAS lower rail.
Now it's nice and snug!

Well thanks guys... I'll probably go with the wire ties until my sas lower rail gets ordered..
