Hey guys just a quick question...

I'm looking into buying a Bushmaster XM-15. It's a nice weapon but the thing that really grinds me about it is the fact that it comes with that AK style muzzle brake, which according to BM is "permanently attached".

I find this AK style muzzle brake to be quite hideous looking and would like to replace it with a "Phantom" if possible.

Does anyone know or have experience with the "how-to's" of doing this, if it can be done?
I tried to do a search but it had limited results.

Thanks for your time!

ADCO Firearms (adcofirearms.com), offers a service that replaces the muzzle brake with the Phantom flash hider.

If you like the Bushy, but not the brake, you can order the weapon how you like it. You can have Bushmaster permanently install a Phantom on the 14.5" bbl. Also, if this is the way you go, you could get that Phantom on one of the other bbl styles, say the M4 profile, if that is your bag of tea. Lots of options available to you, and Bushmaster is great to work with...
And bye the way, I have two Bushy's w/ the AK brake and they work very well...

nuthin is permanent...cept maybe herpes. took me about half an hour with my dremel...be patient, be careful, wear eye and respiratory protection....it's really easy, and you'll save some money.
