Those of you who know me will know that I am all about the bling, yo!

I am beginning to plan my next A1/C7 build and I am rather intent of having it finished in a Satin Nickle or Satin Hard Chrome ( if chrome can be done over Aluminum, that is )

Are their vendors who can accomplish this for me...specifically on the Aluminum components....

Here is my plan:

Armalite Lower

Bushmaster A1E3 style upper ( C7 )

1/9 or lighter twist A1 profile barrel

Three prong Flash Hider

Old school Gel Coat Triangular Handguards and A1 Pistol Grip

ORRRRRR....some of that gorgeous A1 wood furniture stained to a burgandy color

Turner Sadlery Sling restained ( by a leather shop ) to a dark burgandy if I go with the wood OR the Brownell's Synthetic Sling in Black or OD Green if I go with the Gel Coat furniture.

Wow,

With the wood furniture that would look awesome.

If you find a place to do this let us know. I was considering the stainless color of some of those spray on finishes.

I've got an M1A1 Carbine (folding stock paratrooper model) which was chrome plated by some police department before I bought it (for marine use?). This gun might be right up your alley! If you are interested, I'm going to be in Lake Havasu City next month (5/5 to 5/12), then driving home to CO by way of Flagstaff.

I'm sure that you could get the receivers hard-coat anodized in silver, I just don't know where.

I think that hard-chrome coatings are only for steels.

Good Luck,

M.L.

I know METALIFE does alloy pistol frames in hard chrome, he nickles them first, and then hard chromes.

COLT sold some nickled AR15 rifles years ago.

In that case, I would recommend you not deal with them.....

Norrells does make a SS finish, I'm not sure if you have already thought of that route. I have not used it myself, but the pictures I have seen show it looking like a matte, or bead blasted SS finish.

this would be more than acceptable!!!
