I started to put together my DPMS lower. I got the magazine catch installed and the trigger guard and when I went to install the bolt catch roll pin, the pin just slides right through the hole. The hole is way too big. I checked the size to make sure it was the right size by comparing it to another bolt catch roll pin and it matched. By the way, the trigger guard roll pin was a bear to get through. It was like the hole was too small. Any ideas what I should do?

How does the pin itself fit in the bolt catch hole ?

The trigger guard roll pin is bigger than the bolt catch roll pin so the liklyhood of them getting mixed up is pretty far off

I've removed and installed a bolt catch pin before and the bolt catch roll pin is supposed to be a tight fit requiring you to get it started with a hammer and a punch. This pin slides right through the rear hole with no resistance. I compared it to another bolt catch roll pin and they are the same size.
Thanks

EB--

Is it a HEADLESS roll pin, gunner?

I took the lower back to where I bought it. We tried the roll pin in I had in other DPMS lowers and it fit just right. They said that I should spread the roll pin apart with a screw driver to make it fit. I told them I would try that. They also said that if that didn't work to my satisfaction that they would exchange the lower.

Should not have to spread anything. I would get another lower.

I took the lower back to the gun store and they happily switched it out for another one and gave me the parts that I had tied up in the other that I needed to complete it. I was pleased with how they handled it. Good place to do business.
