I cant decide which to build for my next build, either a SPR Mod 0 or a SDM-R?  I like them both, I built both in the past, and want one more but I just cant decide on which one, basicly it boils down to 18" or 20" but which is better and why?
Thanks

This same question has been beat to death lately. Pretty much boils down to a small amount of velocity lost with the 18". I built 2 MK12 MOD0's myself. I think they balance out better for me and I am not concerned about the velocity drop. Weight is pretty much the same depending on stock choices. the MOD 0 with CF PRI handguards and VLTOR Modstock will weigh less than the SDMR with A2 stock. Pretty much up to you but I know you can build the SDMR cheaper trust me! What are the funds looking like? m4quadrail

Enough to do either, I have also built a SDMR and a Mod 0, so I know what your talking about on costs, there is enough to do one, I guess what keeps stumping me is, I built a REECE, and I'm wondering if there is enough advandtage of the 18" SPR over the 16" REECE to justify the cost, but than again is the 20" SDMR a great enough advantage to go that route?

Maybe this will help. What optics do you have for it or are willing to get? The SPR PEQ 2 rails are also available right now if thats the route you decide. I have one with the SPR PEQ2 and the other w/o. Both on Noveske lowers and the PEQless one has VLTOR MUR and Irons only so I can carry it on-duty. My Dept does not allow magnified optics. I qualified the Dept course the same day I test fired it and shot a 50/50. I tend to be a little one sided on this debate! M4QUADRAIL

Optics are open, on my Mod 0 I went with a Leupold Mark 4 3x9 with a lit TMR reticle, on my SDMR, I went with a Nightforce 3.5-15 x 56 NXS, both were mounted on LaRue SPR mounts, on my MOD 0 I had the full ARMS top rail with a ARMS #40LP rear sight with a PRI flip up front, I like the PRI CF hand guards over the Knights and a OPS break and collar.  It was built on a Noveske lower, with a SOPMOD stock (I like it better than VLTORS). Where are the PEQ2 rails for sale?

Mstennes Precision Reflex Inc has 24 of the A.R.M.S. SPR PEQ2 rails available right now for immediate delivery and before anyone asks I have no affiliation with them at all. I just think they make some of the best equipment money can buy! Good luck with your next build whatever it may be! M4QUADRAIL
P.S. I wish I had more cash flow for another build right now but I will have to settle for another Noveske lower build!

16" RECCE
Noveske matched upper (already have)
LW or Compass Lake SS 1/8 heavy under hand guards tapering (SEAL RECCE) contour / Mid gassed
PRI Rifle Length Handguards (sight radius)
Pri rail mount flip FS (awesome have this on my MK12 MOD0)
Pri rear flip sight (think they are Troys)
Pri gas block
LT RECCE scope mount
LMT SOPMOD
Iam sure I will think of some other things after I post this!

Nice, my REECE, is pretty dang close to that, Pac Nor barrel, LaRue HG's, and I'm swaping out the PRI gas block for a Noveskes switch block, and a ACOG
