Tell me everything you know about this ammo.  They have the markings 86/13 on the base by the primer.

Yeah, they come in 300 battle packs, 5.56 X 45 mm, BALL M1A3 – 378 A86. Head stamp "86" at 12 o-clock, and "13" at 6 o-clock.. Very dirty, with many recessed primers that would not fire.

Actually, unless there is something specifically wrong with this batch, it's quite good, M193-class surplus.  It's the South African battlepack ammo that everyone liked so much a few years ago.

this batch must suck then, since i had 3 fail to extract and a fail to fire. This was the first time ever i had any kinda problems with my AR, so im blaming this ammo. I have almost 3000 rounds through it too. Normally shoot winchester 5.56, never a prob.

Hmmm. I've shot thousands of rounds of this stuff with no problems. Actually seems to be a bit hot.  Mine's 384A86. I still have 1,500 rounds in battlepacks, so I hope it's good.

If you have shot thousands of rounds I would not worry about the rest.

Seems like most people like this stuff but Armalites seem to have a problem choking on this ammo.

Why? If you have a bad experience with it, I want to know. And I'll bet everyone else does too. You might have gotten a bad batch. It happens.

Sounds like you may have got some that was stored badly.

I've shot well over 15,000 rounds of this stuff, and I can't remember ever having a malf.

ya i have to agree, god only knows how this stuff was stored.
