I've only ever purchased complete uppers (including B/BC/CH) so I'm in the dark when it comes to buying an upper that does not include the B/BC.  If I bought a new upper and order the bolt and carrier separately do I have to worry about headspacing?

Thanks in advance.

From my experience NO, but I check all my new uppers and new B/BCs (NOT purchased w/ the upper) w/ go/no go gauges, for my own piece of mind, before firing, you should too.

Sounds like a good idea, thanks.  Where can I get a go/no go gauge?

Try Brownells or Midway.

What is the proper way of checking headspacing,
do you have to take part of the bolt apart?
Have you had any headspace problems with ones
you have built and what do you do to correct it.

Thanks
