Im thinking of getting the Midievil Break, but want to make sure it's not just a gimmick. Not going to be meat cleavering anyone anytime soon, but would like moderate flash control and confidence it's not going to break into peices or something when I shoot. If it's a total POS I was thinking of the RRA Tact as plan B.

Does the Troy Midievil Muzzle Break control Flash like they say it does?  Which do you like better of the two?

I have the RR and I like it, noisy so I know it works:) I have no first or second hand experience on the other.

its more of a flash hider than a brake. Mine doesn't control the muzzle much, but flash isn't noticeable either.

I have the Troy Flash suppressor and like it so far.  It took my 14.5 to legal length.

I run the troy brake and it works as good or better than the A2 & Phantom that I previously had.

I have a few Troy Breaks on a few of my weapons and never had one "break into peices". I feel they are a quality muzzel break.

Can someone post a pic of it installed on a M4 or socom type?

The main question with a brake is: does it enhance blast & flash?
IMHO there is no brake on the market which doesn't. The EGW
brake is horrible, so is the CavComp - and both were billed as
relatively quiet. There would be a huge market for a quiet and flash
dampening brake in the assault ban states & countries.

If you are just looking for a Break, it doesn't matter as long as it breaks the muzzle rise and keeps you on target. In my case, yes I'm looking for a dual function device. Although I don't care about the noise I think that stuff is bullshit anyway.  People firing their big cal hunting rifles will make more noise than a .223 with a break on it.

I wasn't considering them for use on this project, and think they are ugly , Im surprised you didn't mention the QCB Many have said that it is very quite as far as Breaks go

I agree about the Flash and aesthetics, but the noise issue is dumb IMHO

My main focus is between the RRA and the Troy Midievil. For this build as they seem to be fit my qualifications for this build. If it looks good and functions right especially in reducing Flash moderately Im all for it. It will make it a whole lot easier to do my next build with the brand new lower I want.  I already have a preban 15 year old carbine and would love to have a new one. If it sounds like a 7mm when I fire it so be it.  You don't hear guys in a fire fight complaining that their buddies SAW is too loud.

with the troy you dont have to worry about it sounding like a howitzer going off, it's not that loud for a brake and its not effective as a break either.

No problem.  The first rifle is my LMT 16" m4 and the second was my 14.5" bushy so you get an idea of what it looks like on both lengths

Also dont know if its barrel length or what but compared to my 14.5" cmmg my 16" LMT is was quieter.

I agree, I have a 11.5 with 5.5" and it's a very differnt sound compared to a 16". Especially with hot loads.

I have a RRA Tactical brake and it is quiet behind it but loud if your standing off to the sides and it seems to work pretty well shooting rapid fire but its the only one I have used so I dont have a comparsion to judge by. it looks cool as hell anyway.heavy.gif

The Kurts Kutom Firearms brakes work well for ban weapons, but holy sh&# they are loud.

If you want the KKF muzzle brake order it and have someone else install it unless your want your upper back by mid-summer.
