I have 2 lowers I just got tax stamps back on.  They're both a little old, as in pre September 1994, thanks Communist state I live in.  Anyways, I would like to refinish them both.

I have looked into anodizing but my concern is enlarging the pin holes since the process eats away at the metal a little bit.

I supposed now i'm leaning towards some kind of spray/bake on coating like Cerakote.  I'm sure there's no one answer, but what's the best product out there?  Simple black, I want to do this once and be done with it.

Next question is I need to get these both engraved, do i engrave first then coat? or coat first then engrave?.  I found a laser engraving place locally that does it to .005 inch which meets nfa depth, and will engrave it under the trigger guard where I want it.
