Hello all, I was wondering, i had a guy shooting a black powder rifle about 8 to 10 feet away from me. Now i know that blackpowder is corrosive, but is the smoke cloud that comes after the shot is fired corrosive? A cloud of smoke went my way just one time,he only took about 3 or 4 shots.Do i have to worry about that smoke cloud causeing any type or corrosive properties on my AR-15? Or just wipe down the outside of my ar with clp,I wasnt going to do a take down to my ar,as i had only fired a 100 rounds(wife called wanted me to get home) and it will just sit in my safe with a golden rod for a few weeks is that ok?Sorry for the long dumb post..Thank you.

though i doubt there will be any problems since i have never ran into any like what you are describing, preventive maintenance isnt a bad thing.
better safe than sorry is what i go by
