Im starting to see HK magazines for the AR for sale .Are  they worth the $50.00 these folks are asking for them ?Do they work twice as good ? Is there any reason to pay over twice as much ?

So basically its just following the unwritten rule that anything with an HK on it has to be expensive?

I just went and bought some of the steel 'English' magazines, added Magpul followers and Wolf springs.

I think a better magazine, and cheaper to boot.

However I have no personal experience with the HK M16 magazine.

Just remember that the German and Brit magazines are not designed for the M16.  As finicky as mags can be, do you want a minute tolerance difference?  Yes, they are NATO spec, but.......

USGI- combat proven, and many can be had new mfg. now.

Brit- surplus or out of tolerance?

German- surplus or out of tolerance?

I just got three of them.

I have to say this, (being loyal to USGI) these HK mags are pretty nice. Seams are flawless. You can see the difference in quality.

I say this with plans to buy more Teflon coated USGI mags.

Just my .02 cents.

Some Pics to let you see the difference.

I was thinking about buying one or two just for the heck of it.  I figure if nothing else they will make my mag collection a little more complete.  Would anyone happen to know where I can find some though?  I don't see them for sale anywhere.  Thanks

This will take you to the grocery store

and so will this..........

I have a couple of high dollar rifles that would finish out nicely with the HK mags

I heard of a feeding issue with HK mags when the rifle is not vertical or is sideways like shooting around a corner.  This was discovered in a Carbine Class.  I have a friend that bought a few for collector value but he plans on shooting one of them to test it out.

I haven't experienced that problem, nor have I had any other feeding problems with the newest batch of HK mags. The finish sucks, and they're way too heavy... But they work. For $35+, I can't say that I'd buy any more of them. We're not very satisfied with the ones we did buy...
