Hello all!!

So here is my dilemma. I have a spike's tactical SAR w/ mid length barrel.

The handguards are like..8.6 inches top to bottom.

I purchased a UTAC® ALUMINUM AR-15/M4 Rifle Mid Length (approx 9") Weaver/Picatinny Quad Rail Handguard

the top portion of the rail fits ok...but the lower piece will not fit no matter how hard i try. it seems like its just a fraction to long.

I dont have any tools to speak of. So what are my options?

This will just have to work for now. photobucket fails

first pic is self-sexplanatory

second pic has the top portion of the rail on

third pic is close up of the upper portion, of the lower rail. the lower portion is seated in the d-ring

no there was no rail on it yet. at least not on the upper. it was just an old plastic hand guard.

I'm not able to see your pics, but if I'm understanding you right you have the upper half of the rail installed and the lower portion in the delta ring assembly but can't get the front in. If thats correct, then you need to remove the lower portion and attempt to install the front of it in the handguard retainer then pull the delta ring back to get the bottom installed. You'll never get it the other way.

But that cheapo rail may just not fit.

im thinking its the fact that its a cheap-o rail. when i try to install the top portion of the lower rail first, i cant get the lower portion to slip into the d-ring.

Not a big deal. Sold it on ebay already, and got me one that will fit on the way.
