I am looking for optics for my HD/SHTF KISS AR.  My requirements are as follows:

1.  Reliability and simplicity (KISS)
2.  Illuminated and short range effectiveness and reasonable (wide?) field of view
3.  Perhaps some level of magnification to be able to reach out and touch someone at 150m if needs be

Any thoughts and insight is greatly appreciated and sorry if this has been discussed before.

I just put the new model Trijicon TriPower on my RRA Elite Car A4 and love it. The fiber optics are bright during the day and up to dusk conditions. The battery powered light is excellent for after sunset and up to almost total darkness. Then the Tritium lamp takes over for when it's lights out altogether. It's a 1x scope but no trouble doing 1" groups at 50 yds with it. The chevron aiming point is much more precise IMHO than the regular dot type scopes. And for around $450, it's a bargain. I do put a 16x Burris on it when doing long range, small target (prarie dogs) work though.
