Howdy. Just need a little help deciding what parts I am going to use to build my gun that will fit my budget.

For the lower I have been thinking about a forged OlyArms (www.olyarms.com) T3 stripped lower. $125

And for my upper and the rest of the parts for the lower, an M-A Parts (www.m-aparts.com) carbine kit. $415-465

I have heard pretty decent things about the Olympic forged lower. But there is the ocassional complaint about tight mag wells and and small burs on this and that. Is this a common problem? Tight mag wells would drive me nuts.

The reason I am interested in M-A parts is because all their kits are mil-spec. The barrel is the good 4150 steel. They are cromelined. The front sight and everything else is forged.
A buddy of mine has had great success using their kits on bushmaster lowers. Anyone got any comments on this company?

Any feedback would be greatly apriciated as I wish to build myself a good AR before the 4th reich Homeland Security goes into
effect late Dec. As it will be very difficult to build decent guns afterwards.

Nothing against OlyArms, but I think that I would go with the RRA lower. There are a couple of dealers selling them in the Equipment Exchange. Another source of suppliers is the Industry Section of this website. Good luck [:D] Jamie

I don't watch the news because of the hours I work. What exactly have you heard? Are they going to ban AR's? Eddie

I agree with fijfi, get a Rock River Arms lower. Very good quality and price. If you have a FFL buddy you can get one for around $110.
