I went to the gunshow today for some ammo and left with a spikes upper, I think. The barrel is marked ST MIL-B-11595E 5.56 NATO 1/7 CL HP MP. Anyone know how to find out what barrel that is?

I ended up getting the upper minus the BCG and CH with 5 30 round Pmags for $410. As long as it's the right barrel I think I did OK. If not then my first gun show buy got me.

Thanks sinless, the only reason I was so unsure is I couldn't find any numbers close to mine on spikes website and after hearing horror stories of gun show buys I was nervous. I am pretty sure if they are the same as yours then it should be what it looks like.

Not sure what you want to know.... It's chambered for the 5.56x45 round....... .223 will be fine too. It has a 1:7 twist......better for stabalizing heavier rounds than 1:9 twist.... 62 grn plus It is high pressure tested. It is magnetic particle inspected. It's all good. |

Does it have the spikes tactical logo on the receiver right above the charging handle?

Thank you for the info Boark, I was having a tough time finding that barrel on spikes site and was afraid it may be a cheap barrel on the upper.

Consider this a score since you have it in hand and not waiting for 4-6 weeks or more.

The only problem now is I have an extra M&P upper sitting here that looks so lonely, going to have to buy a lower for it. Never even had time to fire the M&P before I replaced it. |

With 5 pmags, definitely did well! |

Is the upper new or used? At $410 without BCG and CH, it's about an average buy for new.
I just recently bought a new 14.5" Spikes upper with Magpul handguard, Vortex FH and Spikes BCG and CH for $539. That's $129 more than you paid, and I got BCG, CH, Magpul and Smith Vortex ... and $129 is less than the cost of an average BCG. The PMags are worth about $85, so that brings it closer to a deal. True you didn't have to wait, but ... . . |

"I have this spare pivot pin detent, it looks so lonely. It needs a new rifle to call home!" Or, when you stop trying to justify it at all: "I have this rifle-shaped void in my gun safe. What's that, void? You're BCM-shaped? Got it!" |

Tell me about it my new spare upper I built to swap between the one I have on my main rifle is now turning into my new back up complete rifle.

What about when slings and stocks turn into new rifles? My wife hates that. Always asking me how I can shoot so many that all look the same.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal if that is what it is.

So there you have it from Spike's owner.
I still think it is a kick ass deal, and would have jumped all over it. I caught this effed up BRD full blown and am planning another 3 builds. |

Badazzar, thanks for the info on that man. I took it to the range today and am very happy with my first spikes product, now time to start browsing lowers....

Few weeks ago guy welched on a leftover spikes buffer I had for sale, decided to keep it. ![]() Good score OP - sounds like a fair deal. Especially after confirmation from the man himself. Enjoy. |

All the power in the hands of people rich enough to buy it

My next build is going to be another spikes lower, with bar rail. 100% spider all the way.
