Nice setup.

The only place my guns have been is a dark indoor range
God I wish I could bring them outside without the SWAT team being called

ETA: What length barrel?

Link Posted: 12/12/2004 11:29:42 AM EST
dang! Thats beautiful.... did you have the RRA barrel made into a different profile? if so what is it?

The Wilson barrel profile is definately heavy, but I can't give you the exact specs because I don't know them, as Paul at BravoCompany built the upper. But it is HEAVY!

Wow, that's a nice setup. I have a similar project in the works, I still need the optics.

Damn, chewbacca.

Great looking rig you have there, and obviously have it dialed in.

Nice day, indeed.

chewbacca:

That is excellent. Can't wait to build my new AR which I was planning in similar setup to yours.

Saint2284:

That's too bad. I live in MA as well, but at least my local club has a nice outdoor range (200 yd) and we have lots of local LE come as members. None of them ever bother us when we take out our ARs. Let me know if you ever want to come for a visit. I'll take you to the local outdoor range if you want.

Sweet!

You need to put "GOTD" in the title because that is some serious gun pron!

Mass Rifle? That is where I go. I was talking about bring my rifle into the woods, etc. Ranges are good for target shooting. But I want my AR-15s to run free
Link Posted: 12/12/2004 11:53:44 AM EST
Again What is the length of the barrel?
Link Posted: 12/12/2004 11:59:17 AM EST
Man I love day like that, when every thing works.
Link Posted: 12/12/2004 12:01:16 PM EST
I'm surprised that worked out well.

The 45 grn White box Winchesters I have tried were not crimped at the neck, and ever few rounds the bullet would get pushed into the casing.

We thought about that but decided that this will be primarily a static position weapon system and wanted to combine ultimate accuracy with fire sustainability; and as you can see it works as planned. The rig has one more piece coming when it can be afforded and that is a JPoint. Then the sysetm will be complete.

BTW, it really is not that heavy, the whole system is pretty well balanced; which is more important when it comes to handling than purely weight.

One more thing I want to add is that XM855 shot horribly. We were averaging about 3" groups and were getting very frusterated untill we switched ammo. This is the second time the rifle has been out and the first time we tried anything but M855. we still have yet to test it with any "match" ammo.

Saint2284:

I live in the South Shore. I know for a fact of members going to certain areas (woods) here where they fire their ARs.

That's the biggest dime I've ever seen! ha

Seriously, great group and a beautiful rifle. Guns like that can motivate a fella.
So...... my next coyote rig will be black/OD. (or maybe OD/coyote brown, or coyote/dark earth..)

Damn, with that Bipod you can stand and shoot...
