Quoted: CHL. No question. It just goes without saying.
And once you get it, use it! Carry when appropriate and stay in practice. That may slow down your penny savings for your next build, but you'll be better equipped to USE that CHL by doing this.
My pennies are being saved for CHL for both me and my wife...but we're going to the range to practice while we're saving.

You guys make it sound like its an expensive thing to get a carry license?
Here where I'm from its only $19 to apply for one... When I went to get mine at the Sheriff's office, I was in and out of there in 15 minutes with my photo carry license in my hand...
Here's the process I had to go through...
1) Paid the receptionist $19...
2) Filled out the application...
4) Had my picture taken...
5) The receptionist handed me my license...
In total from the moment I walked into the Sheriff's office to the time I walked out with my license in hand, 15 minutes had passed...
