I am looking for a nice light load (55-70gns) that I can shoot out of some of my FF, 1-9 rifles.

I like the prices on Georgia Arms Canned Heat- $140/ 500 for 68 gn HPBT. The only thing that holds me back is the fact that it is remanufactured ammo that I have never heard of.

Anyone use GA Canned Heat often? What do you think? Anyone heard any Ka-Booms?

I know that Black Hills will fit the role in accuracy, but the cheapest I can find it locally is like $20/ box. I can't find it anywhere online. Anyone know of somewhere online where I can get it cheaper? Hopefully for about $150/ 500 or less.?.? I would prefer red box if it can be had for similar pricing.

Anyone know of any other alternantives?

I normally use XM193 for pretty much everything. I just need something more accurate for a few rifles that I have. Keep in mind that whichever brand I choose, it will be shot in other calibers (168gn .308, 230gn .45ACP, 115gn 9mm, 55gn 5.56)

ETA: This ammo will be used for plinking, SHTF, general use. As much as I would like to stockpile 77gn SMK, I can't afford that. Anyone who can makes way more than me.

GA arms is fine, i've shot both there .223 and .45. Black Hills is quite a bit more expensive, I use GA for plinking.

I just bought 500 rounds in an ammo can of the GA Arms 55gr FMJ ammo. They state 3150 fps on their label. The ammo looks good. Hopefully it shoots well. For $90, I thought it was a decent deal. Got it at a gun show today.

Just strange. Here, 55gr. Black Hills Blue Box is $10.99/box of 50.

In general plinking I've found the blue box to be more accurate than GA. I really like both though.

I use Ga arms ammo exclusively in my AR and love it. Never a bad round in whats now over 1000 in the last few weeks.

I've used their .45 and 9mm for years with good results. I find it just as accurate as M193 surplus ammo if not better.

Minute of dead.

If GA would load their 68 grain BTHP (2600 fps) hotter to match Black Hills (2850 fps) I'm buy some.

I bought 1000 rds of the 55gr for $170 today here in Jax... Looks LEAUGES better than this crap ADCOM I bought for the same price. I'm gonna go back & get another 1000 tomorrow. I bought 500 of .40 S&W 165gr FMJ & 500 of .38spl 125gr JHP, $85 each.

Used their ammo for years, never had an issue with it.

Always had good luck with their stuff but I wish they would make MK262 equiv loads. Until they do it's BH blue box for my "serious situation" ammo.
