I see it on auctions for very cheap, but I cannot seem to find any reviews. They claim 3150 fps (doesn't say barrel length).

Any one have any links to reviews or expirience with this ammo?

Didn't see it on ammo oracle or ammo faq, I also did a search for past 30 days.

Thanks.

This is your subject http://www.georgia-arms.com/

I have a canned heat ammo can of the 55gr 5.56mm.

I think this is the best reloaded 5.56mm you can buy. They use LC brass.

Psst.... to tell ya the truth I can't tell the difference when I shoot this stuff compared to M193 ammo.

Edit: Also NEVER a FTF/FTE.

I have run 4k rounds of this ammo through 4 different rifles, including a HK SL8/G36 conversion, M16 in 11.5, 14.5, and 20" configs, and a AK 47.

Absolutely 0 malfs.

It's a bit dirty due to the powder they use (reloads generally always are), but not half as dirty as the old South African stuff I used to run.

I plan on buying in large quantities from them again.

On another note, their 9mm, .40s/w, and .45 run superbly as well. The 9mm and .40 I've run through my P7's, all which loved it - which was quite unusual for reloads. Most P7's clog with carbon fouling on the gas piston quickly with reloads.

This stuff is *top* notch. If you can get your local FFL to order for you, you can get another 15% off the canned heat, not to mention that if you order over 500$ worth you can also have free shipping.

With those kinds of discounts, you can't pass it up!

Here is the reason I think not too many people are interested in this kind of ammunition:

1) It's a reload.
2) $80/500 or $150/1000.

For me and I think a lot of other people, there are 2 kinds of ammo:

1) M193 (or M855 if price is of no concern)
2) Plinking ammo.

M193 can be found for $25/case more than the reloads you mention, if not cheaper. I can get Q3131A at the local gunshow for $168 out the door.

Plinking ammo, on the other hand, is a "as cheap as possible as long as it runs in your gun" type of proposition (for me at least). Wolf or similar ammo can be had for $100-110/1000, and the new Sapsan from Sportsman's Guide ammo runs $89/1000.

$150 for reloads is just not that great of a value.

IMI M-193 the Gold Standard, $189.00 for 1200 rounds shipped.  That equals $157.50 per 1000 Shipped.  It don't get no better than that.

DAMN, that IS a great price.  I just recieved 1k rds of the Wholesale Hunter XM193 (special sale for ARFCOM) but I just might have to pony-up for this one.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I tried botach while ago but they never answered my email on how to send in the order form. Do I fill out the form, fax it, then order with paypal?

Kamakazi, I use Pay Pal and then fill out the Botach ammo form. You'll also need to make a copy of you're DL or other "official" ID (MIL, etc.).

Fax these two items to Jeffrey at 323-294-3542. He's the ammo guy at Botach. Usually you'll receive an email confirmation in short order.

Hope this helps,

Paul
