Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Gas Block Sling Swivel

Does anyone use these on their carbine? Mine is a Bushmaster V-match 16" with a free floater. I don't think I'll be using it, since it will disrupt the free float.  How about just taking it off? It appears that a rivot holds it to the block, and I would have to drill it out.   Is that a bad idea and I should just leave it?
