That's awesome dude, congrats to you both!

As far as pic thread, this is best I can do. It's definitely GWOT/late 00's commercial market inspired. What I love about this thing, is I can dump a few mags through it and still hold it. All my Mlok rifles get too hot when I mag dump into dirt and trash.

Well, it does have a pinned shaved FSB inside... but yeah. I've done a few FSB builds and they were fun but this was something different and it was nice to do.

That's hot as fuck. How do those old Bushnell Eotechs run? Looking for a retro eotech for a Mk 18-esque build and I'm considering one

I've had a few. They all run until they don't (it's rare for them to fail in my experience and I haven't heard too many stories of them just up and quitting). The brightness is adjustable but they're too bright for good use under NODs - think 511 comparable. Unfortunately the secondary market on them got stupid - you used to be able to find them for $125 or so but now they can go for up to $350-400, which is just dumb.

It says the barrel nut is non-removable for the ones I’ve found (and just bought) on Gunbroker.
Please let me know how you got the gas block on before my head implodes…

What’s the barrel and handguard length on that? I didn’t think a 13.5” handguard would leave enough room on a 16” barrel

It can be done with a standard 16" ops cut barrel.

FH mount shimmed out with a fat spacer and custom collar.  I did exactly that when the mk16 first came out.
The FH has more threads than the brake - so you can do some tricky shit with it.  It's how I got my MRE flush.

This is one way. You can also start with a 16.5" barrel.

This is only temporary while I wait on a DD 14.5 Gov. barrel and a SF four prong.

This rifle in progress hardly belongs here, but I wanted to share as I’ve just received the same tube @ThatGuy01 used above (carbine length, I have a mid-length as well).
Outside Diameter measures a couple thousandths over 2” on my cheap digital calipers. I might be able to get it to work with a PRI rail…

Needs a CAR15 stock.

Very nice! I used YHM rail segments (Numrich still has some) and they fit perfectly on the sides:
https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1481890

These are shorter versions and should work as well:
https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1972270

The top rail and bottom rail are lower profile YHM rails (the ones above will be too tall on the top) from an old drop-in rail that I had from them.

Awesome, I just ordered two of the longer rails.
Did you just tap and thread screws directly into the handguard?

Yes. It's not an ideal solution but it should hold for now until I can find some appropriate flat nuts.

I've got a primary arms dot sitting on my Blackwater build while I source an old model eotech 552 that someone isn't trying to charge $500 for (It'll have a stock soon, I'm just now getting around to doing the paperwork). All that's left is to get it stamped, remark the receiver like an old M4 upgrade package, and put on a redi-mag and the vertical grip. Need to find a proper #45M or #50M but the M-CV + swan sleeve combo works for now

I mean, it is probably the only good way to run an MCX Legacy config. I strongly disliked the ALTRD rail and the handguard/forward upper receiver flex was significant.
