Well, Here's a question from an ignorant newbie. Can the front sight be removed from an H-Bar Bushmaster and replaced with an aftermarket gas block? Or does this have to be done by a gunsmith? I got a flattop and only after the fact thought about scope clearance. Any help would be awesome.

If you are only concerned about the sight tower blocking your view through a scope, no need to worry. Any scope of 3X or more won't see it. A scope person can explain why better than I can.

As Armailite says the pins should be "carefully" tapped out. However, they require a good solid whack while the sight base is solidly supported. A wooden floor won't work. Properly supported, with the correct size pin punch, a hefty hammer, driven in the correct direction, it's not that hard of a job.
