OK - I got the pins out ofthe front sight base.  However, the  FSB will not move at all.  How do you get this thing off??

I just hit mine with a rubber mallot on each side a few times. Then hit it in the direction I wanted to take it off. It might be a good idea to oil the part of the barrel that the FSB will be sliding over, to help avoid scuffing it.
