I have a free float tube on my 20" AR. I want to remove it.
Basic question: How?

I was told it is a spin on. It will not budge. I am leary of reefing on it without being sure.
Is there something simple that I am missing?

Use a strap wrench from the auto parts store and maybe a little heat if it has lock-tite.

Depending on what model you have if it is a one piece tube and you have a standard front sight base you may have to remove the FSB first. That, I hear is a pain in the buttocks.

I have the Hogue and RBprecision models and that's how I remove them. Except I got my strap wrench from HomeDepot
