I am thinking of building my own DEA AR. The only thing I have not seen on the RRA DEA was a free floated tube. Question: Would a free floated handguard be an advantage on a 14.5 in Tactical Carbine ? Note: with the FS installed the gun becomes a legal 16 inch carbine.

My 16 in Bushy Modular is free floated.

Cheers

Yes, no matter the barrel length a free-float tube will greatly increase it's accuracy, plus (depending on which tube you buy) also allowing you to mount accessories. Yankee Hill Machine sells some CAR-length free float tubes with rails, and I believe Fulton Armory has some in that price range too.

If you do not free float your rifle, you will be unable to get into heaven
