Why does my non forward assist SP1 rifle (mine is ser no 27,000) have serrations on the bolt carrer? I have looked at others for sale on line and they also look like they have serrations.

Is this because Colt just used the M16 carrier even though their SP1 line didn't have the assist? Curious to know if I got the right carrier wuth my rifle...Thanks.

i usually see slabside carriers in sp1's unless they are home built or surplus m16 uppers which are mistaken for sp1's
