For my up coming birthday I have decided I want an ar15: 16" barrel, flat top upper. Pretty much going for the m4orgery look. I was browsing the Del-ton website and came across their 16" M4 rifle kit. My question is does this kit come fully assembled, neglecting buying the lower and assembling that, or does it come in pieces? If it comes in pieces what tools would I need? Is the Del-ton kit any good? If not what would you recommend?

This is exactly what I bought for my first. The upper comes assembled already. You just need to have a stripped lower ready and add the lower parts kit that comes with the whole kit.

Get a chrome lined barrel. I got that and the detachable carry handle. Using the iron sites, at 50 yards standing I got a quarter-sized group first shots, a couple broke paper on each other.

I was pleased, in fact I love it, more than my long range gun.

Del-Ton makes good stuff, and their customer service is supposed to be top notch. The upper will come already assembled. As for tools, I just put my first lower together with a flat head screwdriver, punch set, a small hammer, and a CAR stock wrench. Make sure to get some tape also so you dont ding your receiver during a few steps. Oh, get the Pivot Pin install tool. For what, $5 its well worth it.

Another question, is it worth $60 to get the dmps barrel or should i stick with the wilson barrel?
