I was cleaning my bolt assembly, and noticed the firing pin doesn't have a block similar to handguns... So I also noticed light primer strikes from the firing pin hitting the primer when a round is chambered.

I have shot 500rds thru my new AR w/o any problems, wouldn't light primer strike potentially cause a round to be fired while it's being chambered, or a chambered round go off if the gun is dropped on it's muzzle ?

in that theory follow the 4 rules an youll be safe.

i havnt ever seen a AD from light primer striking though. not to say it hasnt happened. just giving my experience.

it would seem you would need a lot more force than the gentle tapping from the pin sliding back an forth in its channel.

compared to the spring driven force of the hammer hitting it on the head.

Ammunition that is used in AR's generally employs a mil-spec primer which is harder than the normal commercial primer.  These require substantially more impact to set them off than the inertia impact caused by the floating firing pin.  I have never seen a slam fire in any AR or M16.

Exactly why doesn't the firing pin have a return spring like most other guns?
