At a distance of 150 ft(from behind adequate cover) they cut through it like a hot knife through butter.  I was truly impressed with how this ammo performed and will be buying more of it ASAP.

The wall thickness was at least 5/16ths maybe slightly thicker.  I realize it wasn't hardened armor plate but it was steel nonetheless and if anyone were behind it, they'd be hurting bad.

Next visit, will have pictures if someone here will host them.

Comparison pics of "standard" 55gr bullets hitting the same steel would be a good reference.

I guess the 55gr will NOT completely penetrate.

Edit:  @ 100 yds.

The 55gr should penetrate. Ive shot 40gr Nosler BTs (.221 Rem) into a wheel hub at 100yds. It enters but doesnt exit.

Hi

Took a pic of a 0.5 inch thick stainless steel plate that i tested 2ea SS109 bullets against.
The SS109 ammo was shot from a Remington 700PSS 26" from 50m (60yds) the bullets penetrated completely and the 3 bigger holes is from 168gr M2AP loaded in 30-06.
I took the picture with my cellphone so the quality is quite bad.

Next time put a piece of cardboard a few feet behind the steel and see what happens. Someone behind the steel may not be hurting as bad as you think.

So I made the comment because the same piece of steel that I could get M855 to penetrate at 25yds, 50yds, and 100yds, I couldn't get M193 to go thru.  Is this right?

I've always had better penetration from M193 on hard targets than M855.  I prefer to shoot M855 on my armor gongs because it does less damage.

Ken
How thick is the plate and what sort of steel is it?

I'll do that, but please explain. Are you saying that the penetrator core will have used up all its energy after passing through the steel?
Curious as to what you are getting at and your reference.
