Hey all,
Has anyone tried this yet?  Anyone know what specs it's loaded to?

.223? 45acp? I've used the 40cal, nice clean snappy load. I thought it was fine.

this was the Fiocchi 55g fmj at 50yrds(couldn't get on the 100 that day) on a 3" shoot-n-c. No chrono data but 9rds. about one shot a sec from a 14.5 Bushy 1/9. The flyer was first shot until then compensated for the rise since I'm sighted in at 100yrds. I'm no match shooter but I'd say the ammo shot pretty decent all things considered.

I too have been wondering about this ammo. It is brass cased and made by a company known to produce good quality ammunition. It looks nice. But as to how hot it is, I have no idea.

If I were guessing. the velocities are probably closer to commercial specs, otherwise it would likely be marked as 5.56mm rather than 223. But you never know for sure without putting it through a chrono. I haven't.

That said, I'd say it's at least as good as most of the other commercial loads out there and some places have "decent" deals on this ammo compared to other similar types. It isn't exactly "cheap". But in regards to other brass cased 223 ammo, the price is about as good as anything out there right now.

I guess we'll have to wait until enough of this is bought to get a good opinion as to it's quality. But I admit I am glad to see yet another source for 223 ammo. With ammo availability as uncertain as it is today, every extra source is very beneficial.

I didn't know Fiocchi had set up manufacturing capability in the US.  The Fiocchi USA site says the plant is in Ozark MO.  Does anyone know how long this plant has been running?

Their .223 ammo has hordany 55 grain FMJ bullets in them.  Good stuff i like hordany 68 grain Match I reload.

I would reload more but I have 10K of M193 bullets on the shelf right now

2 years ago I bought Fioncci shotgun shells for pheasant hunting that were made in MO.   I cut one open and it had crap for pellets.  This year with some encouragement bought a new box and cut open another and the pellets were very nice...  So I would be confident enough to shoot the .223 for practice.

oh and it says .223 on the box so would be SAMMI spec .223  they wouldn't make a mistake and be 5.56.

It's has been there as long as I have lived near it, so at least 15 years, it is only a mile form  my front door.

I first play around with it in september www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=296124

It uses Hornady's 55gr FMJ bullet so its more accurate than most if not all 55gr FMJ loads out there.

If I had to guess I guess that its closer to M193 in terms of its load than typical .223.

I had zero malfunctions with the 400rds I shot threw my CMMG M4, if I could find it I would buy more of it, its very nice ammo.
