I finally got the last part (surefire mini scout) for my BCM/URX 11.5" upper for my SBR lower.  I thought I'd post some pics and some specs
Bushmaster SBR lower, BCM 11.5" upper, KAC URX rail, rear buis and stippled panels, Magpul ASAP, CTR, MIAD, TD stubby VFG, Aimpoint Micro T1 in Larue mount, Surefire mini scout in Larue mount, Battlecomp and some other little additions to the rifle as well.... Let me know what you think.

Here it is with the KAC SR-15 E3 (almost the same set up with Mods as well)

That's one hell of a duo..I've been putting off my "costa" build for awhile and all I'm really missing is the barrel..I may just have to order it sooner than I expected thanks to your pics..

I like your rifle, but I hate you for having nicer things than me.

What are you going to use for a front sight?  Super looking rifle.  I really love the tiny light.  Have a weight on it?

dude you better change your title before morning. the fanboys are going to eat you alive and pick every single thing out on your stick that costa does not use.

nice sticks btw!

The handguard has a front sight built in. Its just not deployed, making it a continuous rail.

Nice build!

Have you shot it yet? Curious about the battle comp. Toying with getting one for my SBR but I'm having a hard time justifying the price tag

Define "costa". Is it "costa  doing business"?

Nice gun, but "Costa Upper"??

Cool sticks but "Costa"?? Have you no shame? That build is very similar to mine so why aren't you calling it a Bomber Build?

How is this any different from BCM calling one of their configurations the "Kino" upper?

Costa and Haley have entered the ar15.com popular lexicon. It's all good.

You're absolutely right, but I was making the point that it is named after someone who popularized the configuration (12.5" barrel, carbine length gas system with low profile gas block, midlength pinned FSB, midlength handguard).

Ah, gotcha.

I'm waiting for the "Combat Beard SF Guy" upper. I hear it makes anyone an Operator, regardless of belly size and fitness level.

CaptShiess built the gun, and it's damn nice. Why not call it a CaptShiess upper? Why must the fanboys label everything?

Were these gun configurations like dead baby's until Costa picked it up?

It's more convenient. It's easier than rattling off a list of features, IMO.

Pet peeve much?

I agree that having a shorthand for popular configurations is convenient.

I only called it the "costa" upper because that's how it is advertised by gun gallery where I purchased it.  I do like magpul stuff, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan boy (some of their stuff isn't for me just because it says magpul on it).  Anyway, I'll fix the name if that will make everyone happy.

I have shot it and it shoots excellent.  I did have some problems with a broken case, but I'm thinking it was the ammo.  I planned on going out today to shoot another couple hundred rounds today, but it got too hot too quick so I'll have to do it another day.  The battlecomp rocks and is a very good investment IMO.
