Well I finished my first build. It did not take me nearly as long as I thought it would. I figured I would have everything finshed within a year. It took me 3 months. I took it out and test fired it this morning and everything seems to function fine.
Here are the photos. The last photo is the target from my test fire this morning. I shot at 50 yards. Considering this is my second time shooting an AR and I didn't do anything to adjust the sights I'm relatively pleased with how it shot. Also it was cheap 55 grain factory ammo. Hopefully with some time at the reloading bench I can get it shooting a little tighter than that.

Nice build!!! Group looks damn good, especially for someone that isn't very familiar with the rifle. What do you think of the AFG? Just curious to hear an opinion from someone that is new to AR's
I like it. I haven't actually shot the rifle off hand yet so I haven't actually used it but I've played with it around the house quite a bit and I think i'm really going to dig it. I borrowed a vertical foregrip from my friend and tried that as well but I like the AFG much better. It makes it easy to operate the TLR 1 and also seems to be a much steadier grip for me as opposed to the verticl foregrip. Once I get out and do some off hand shooting as well as some shooting on the move I will have a better idea.
I like it!
