Put 30 rounds through my new AR build today and zeroed the red dot. Runs great , had the adjustable gas block just right. Really shoots tight groups at 50 yards, last shot was 1/2" off the bulls eye. Guy who cut my barrel did a great job, that match crown job he did was sweet. Cutting the 16" barrel to 13.7 didn't seem to hurt at all. I am very pleased with the way it shoots and can't wait to do some serious training with it . This was with 55gr 556 in a 1/7 twist , the 62gr has to be just dead on, can't wait to test that. I thought I would lose something making a 30" long AR, cutting the barrel was a risk I thought, but boy did I get a great suprise . I love the shortness of it and as good as it shoots, I couldn't be happier.

Who did you find to do the barrel work?

Shortening the length will do nothing adverse to the accuracy of the barrel (especially at 50 yards). Cool rifle OP... 13.7 is a good length.

Barrel work done at Marks Sporting in Birmingham , Hoover area , it is a B.E. Meyers flash hider. Yes real happy with it the 13.7 /14" barrel shot real well at hoover indoor range. It is just over 16" with the B.E.Meyers hider pined and welded. Gunsmith drilled the hider and made a pin and I put the upper together and welded the pin after drilling into the treads setting the pin after I sanded the washer to clock the hider on the barrel. Pain in the .........well you know!
Now that know it functions well I will take it apart and Cerakoat it so it will be finished. Adding 1'Oclock site and ambi safety .Also a light of course. It has an adjustable gas block so when running suppressed I can tune it. Any other questions, glad to share. Upper ambi is by Crosshill Technology . Ultra short stock by LWRC. Whole weapon 30" long stock all the way forward.

I not only had it shorted but re-profilled too, just a little on the end. I was hoping I was not ruining a nice stainless barrel. I shot nice groups you couldn't put a quarter in without touching the holes, maybe a nickel.

What's up with the upper and bolt carrier? Looks like it reciprocates? Different design.

It does reciprocate like an AK , charges from both sides. Made by Crosshill Technology, match grade and runs like a top.

LWRC Ultra Compact Stock , comes with 5" buffer tube about a 2 1/4" buffer and flat spring, real high tech, brings the weapon in real tight.

I have one of these stocks too , just not the one I have on this weapon. That stock works on a regular Mil Spec tube. Ultra Compact on this one!
