I ordered my Larue mount and BUIS four days ago and it came in the mail today. The front of the mount hangs over the upper by a half centimeter because thats the only way I can position it so the rear cover doesn't hit the BUIS. Did I mount it correctly?

well... i'm not a fan of fixed rear sights anyways... but you can do what some people do and that is to take off the rear lens cover... the mount should be pretty secure where it is but if you as anal as me... i'd make sure it as ok...

oh and also... make sure you degrease your screws with finger nail polish remover... to remove that film...

Now do like Lumpy says, and flip those covers around.

Thanks Grant I'll flip it around. I thought the angled part should face the scope to make it easier to flip the cover open. And thanks for sending them to me so promptly.
