We decided to use the excellent POF full length and free floated rail.  This is absolutely tight and included an atatchment for the super firm Harris bipod.  This rifle has the Crane adjustable stock that is tight and very comfortable.  The rifle is a Gas Trap with polygon and progressive rifling.  It is 1-9 but actually comes to a 1.87.  I will test soon with M-262 but this test was with M-193 because M-193 can be obtained every where.
The scope is the unbelievable Leupold 2.5-8 30mm Mk4.  It is really clear and the mil dot is not cluttered.  I used Leupold extra high Tactical Rings but will replace them with a LaRue or AIM QD mount later because I want an Aimpoint in a QD mount readilly availible.

M-193 performed perfectly as you will see.

After talking to Joe who said that this little baby is built for hot loads and full automatic fire I increased the powder and this little baby purrs.  I used both Varget and 748 and don't want to publish the data but it is hot.  It was raining so I will chrono this week, I suspect it will be the same as M-193 or so.

No it is a single stage McMillian.  What a difference it makes.  I'd say on me it closes the groups by a third or more.  I don't think I'll put this trigger in my carbines but will in all but my Service Match rifle.

You chrono it?

I'll get the chrono out when it stops raining, perhaps Wed or Thursday.

I like your gas system and that is a good looking rifle, but WHY did you go with the POF rail?  It sits unnecessarily high above the bore line.  Why not use a LaRue rail instead?  I'm not knocking POF; they produce some innovative stuf.  I just don't personally like their rail system.

POF is also a Phoenix company and the rail is really well made at a significant less cost that a LaRue.  The free float POF is tighter than heckaroonie and gives a very good base.  It is high though so I will probably take the xhigh Leupold rings off the production gun and recommend LaRue of AIM Q D rings at a normal height.  I'm probably going to ditch the buis and put a Doctor optic next to the Leupold.  This is a fairly specialized weapon that will take the eyeball out of a Bad Guy at a hundred meters and do it every time.  Perfect for a police DM in hostage rescue.

Today I wanted to function test with a heavy bullet and chose the Hornady 75 grain Moly.  I used Varget 25 grains which is heavy but it was too windy to risk my chrono.  This bullet fired a 4 round group that is a little less than 1/8th inch.
I let 7 G I's who were on the range fire it and the results were terrific.  I gave this site so I hope a couple of them will comment.
One thing one of the NCO's pointed out that we all agreed on, the Gas Trap system has no, and I mean no muzzle signature.  No flash, no smoke.  It is astounding.

Here is the 25 meter zero target. That is 4 rounds in a a/8th of in inch group.  I used the Hornady Moly and will probably go with the non-moly later.  Rachael from the Hunting Shack is sending som test ammo so I will get the nth degree of accruacy from this rifle.  We want a law officer to be able to make an eyeball shot at 200 meters if necessary.

The Larue rails barely have enough room for a gas tube, never the less a piston assembly.

The Troy rails are about the only current option that could probably mange it. They'll fit the POF with a little bit of modification.

We actually tried the Larue rails and they didn't fit.  POF offers a heck of a deal and they are a Phoenix based company so we get delivery by driving over and having a cup of Joe.

Looking forward to the chrono data.  Is there any chance we could get a look at the operating system internals?

I'll leave that up to Arms Tech, I'd say yes as soon as I get the testing done.  I'm certain Joe has the patents complete.  One thing, this rifle makes a sound like no other AR I've ever heard.  It is sort of a bark from the front instead of the sharp snap of my other's (I have 7 now, all different).  Whe I first took it into a local gun shop one of the fellows was wondering if ATF was figuring the Gas Trap was a silencer.  Holy cow no, it is fairly loud BUT there is no signature at all and that is true with all ammo.  I should get the 77 grain loads this week from The Hunting Shack and if the rain lets up in the afternoons I should be able to shoot.
