Well now that I can somewhat focus on things after my eye surgery I took the SPR to the 100M range. It took me about 15 rounds to adjust my eyes and the paraflex(didnt know I had to adjust that)one of our LT's(10 yr competion shooter) from my unit was shooting so he instructed me on adjusting it. I shot 20 rds 69 grain sierra federal ammo and the $3.98 box of 20rds 55 grain winchester bargin ammo and a few rounds of what ever I had left over from last time i went shooting. so overal im satisfied with its perfomance the only thing lacking is me and my eyes so next time these groups should be tighter.

Shot groups

This is the best group I could get with the 55 grain. now I know that match ammo makes a difference.

And a pic with the new Vtor stock, will have pics of it with the Evil crane copy next week!!!

edited cause I still cant focus dammit!!

It is one of Wes's barrels made for him by Frank White at CLE. Wes will not divulge the twist rate but my guess is that it is somewhere between 1/7.7 and 1/8.25. Nice shooting FREE. Your groups will be tighter with heavier bullets. I usually shoot Black Hills 75g and 77g blue box.

Awesome free! Is it chrome lined? Did you or the previous owner follow any break-in procedure? I'm sure you're tempted to buy that KAC front sight since thats all you're missing. I vote to spend the cash on more high quality ammo! (but thats hard to do I know)

No chrome lining, it's a stainless steel (Douglass) barrel (right, FREE?). My CLE SPR barrel is also 1/7 because it was made with the same batches made for the military, so I am told, rather than being 1/8.X. In otherwords, it wasn't a CLE SPR barrel made for MSTN to assemble an upper with, it was an SPR upper put together FOR MSTN by a 3rd party who makes SPR's for the military. So the CLE barrels can come in different twist rates though they still have the SPR contour and fitted bolt. It's all good! Well, except for the price of a rail mount KAC flip front BUIS - $175? ACK!
