Holy overpriced upper batman! Yup like a kick in the they were always $895 before, that's only about 10% increase. I wish all those lowers, mags, and LPK's had only gone up 10% overpriced?, simply your opinion. |

The N4 is worth it, and I love Raineirarms. They're top-notch, and great to deal with, but I just chuckled a bit when I saw this:
List Price: $945.00
Your Price: $995.00 |

Thats not bad considering you are getting one of the best barrels in the market. Hammer forged, double thick chrome lined, M4 feed ramps, F marked FSB, parked under FSB and taper pins. Sounds like a good deal to me..... ETA: So thats $44 over a LMT upper. And you get more features. ETA 2: And figure in a perm install for the FH. If you can build an upper with all these features for cheaper...let me know cause I would be interested! |

Do people "need" the accuracy and durability N4 barrels provide? Not really, but it's nice to have. Kinda like a Ferrari and a Hyundai will both take you the grocery store... but the Hyundai won't make it through a single lap of Laguna Seca. |

+1 $900 dollar rifles will have to cut some corners somewhere. BS. One of my $900 Bushmasters will rock and roll just fine for 99% of ARFCOM. "F" marked sights and M4 ramps aren't really critical on the couch. The "I'm trying to justify the $900 ass-pounding that I just gave my credit card" vibe is strong in this thread! |

If the features your BM comes with suits you fine that is good for you, but other people want different features for what works for them, and what they want in a rifle. Not saying BM is junk or anything but you are getting more with the Noveske, and priced out its not exactly a rip-off. |

not saying much. 200 rounds down range a year tops. |

Thats right before the Nov 08 rush they were in the high 800s anyway, this isnt a rip off at all.
The price breakdown done above is correct and revealing of the true value. Also, if they were overpriced they wouldnt have sold out so fast. Enough people know better to just let that shit sit in stock. Kind of like the recent RRA lowers that sold out so fast, or Petes LPKs, or Bravos BCGs. I wish I could afford two more of those LPKs just for the parts bin, alas now is not my good times. |

When you add a suppressor, it's a different ball game, and your components will be much more stressed... And what of carbine classes? While some guys shoot 200 rounds a year, I shoot that much a week. It really helps that i'm 10 min. away from a range at work, haha. It also helps that I reload. If you're going to say your BM is fine, the CMMG bargin bin $550 rifles are just fine too. A hyundai is 99% just fine for the general populace as well. The "I can't spend the money so it's not worth it" vibe is strong in this thread! |

I don't care if it was forged with Thor's hammer, 1k is steep for an upper considering I got by for 20 years & a few messes with complete rifles that cost less (Colt). There is always someone willing to open their wallet though and it's nice to have more choices than ever!

Only thing I don't have is the "double thick" chrome lining gimmick. But hey, it's your money. If the latest name twirls your beanie go for it. |

Called Rainier today about the N4 uppers that were all sold in 30mins and inquired why I wasn't notified. I've had my name on an email notify list for over a month with them. I was told it was an oversight and they were sorry. Pretty crappy oversight from my point of view. I really expected better from them...

Isn't capitalism great. We pay what ever they ask because we can and we want it. Who's business is it anyway what someone pays for the things they want. Buy it-use it-enjoy it-brag about it. If someone thinks it's over priced then walk away and let the next guy have a crack at it.

LOL. That is one way to look at but you can not justifiy you paid more. Noveski are good rifles no doubt.

Quoted: Key phrase. You "would have" before the election.... I'm happy because I sold a S&W15T and got a Noveske upper with a LMT lower without any money lost Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Holy overpriced upper batman! I prefer math barrels anyway so Noveske is where it starts for some of us... Ive build 3 Noveske uppers and STILL have money for ammo, etc, it depends on things like your career, etc yadda yadda, if you want to do that song and dance. |

This thread makes me laugh... anyone who trains and runs a rifle hard knows what they are paying for.
To each his own... |
|
The guy defines quality in his own terms, NOT the populations, there in lies the problem.
Vague. I think this is funny, a week ago a KAC rifle was posted for sale, 3 in stock, went out of stock in an hour, same for this thing it seems. |

I've been buying for years, the economy, president, whatever, doesnt change what I do, I know Im lucky and in a fairly different situation then most but all the same, I simply don't get hung up on the price point for what I THINK is quality, and by most respects Noveske is, thats all. I bought an SR-15 E3 last week for the "pre Obama" price. Not everything is sky high, some better items just cost more, plain and simple. |
