Troy,
Look at this auction for .308 bullets. Is that what a tungsten core is supposed to look like???

I will be glad to do the same, but don't need your rifle, just send the cash.

That is the penetrator for that bullet but it is a pretty pathetic AP core. Reason being, I suspect it is mild steel after having pit some of the things against a variety of steel using a variety of handloads up to and including my 300WinMag.

I've got some old WWII and Korean era 30-06 163grn AP projectiles and those things are every bit the better projectile in how they perform. I've put the things out of my 300WinMag at 3200fps and managed to pierce a 1 1/4 inch thick steel plate at 80-100 yards(only once out of around 15 shots however). Compare to the 150grn variety in the picture on that link, which my 300WinMag can push at around 3400-3500fps which should make a HUGE difference, and the projectile met it's match by barely managing to bump the back side of the plate.

I doubt very much the core has any tungsten in it or is hardened to the point that the 163grn cores are, the cores of the 163gn AP projectiles are still SHARP after piercing the 1 1/4 inch plate(just as sharp as the 690grn AP projectiles from my 50BMG).

Want some of those 147-150grn projectiles? Head by here where I got mine to begin with,

I think this is the same guy who was trying to sell 5.56x45mm "RUFOSS" ammo trying to pass it off as a smaller scale version of the 50BMG MK211 RAUFOSS round.
