If an Eotech is placed on a rail like a KAC RAS in front of a fixed carry handle for example would you still sight through the rear apeture or look above it? How does it co witness? What are the advantages of having the Eotech placed further up front as opposed to on an A3 Flat top where the carry handle would normally reside

Thanx,

Gunzer

First of all, in that situation, the EOTech will cowitness assuming the top of the rail on the handguard is the same height as the rail on the reciever. Secondly, most red-dot optics are placed further up on the weapon to assist in speeding up the target acquisition. IIRC.

I prefer my red-dot optic mounted between my two hands. It's far enough forward to speed up target acquisition, but being between your hands means it's weight is spread out between the two, giving (me) a great balance feel.
