I just bought an Eagle Arms 16" flat top at a gun show for $680 new. It is Post-ban config with a heavy bull barrel. I thought I was getting an Armalite because thats what the labels on it said, but upon closer inspection the reciever says Eagle Arms div Armalite. It had some FTF during the first range session-perhaps teething problems, but on the subsequent 2 sessions everything has been cool with various USGI mags.

Anybody have any opinions about these?

Eagle Arms is a division of Armalite and it should prove to be a reliable, dependable carbine for you. For that price, I would have bought it.

I bought a used Eagle lower from a dealer at a gunshow a few years ago and have been very happy with it. I have a 16" model one CAR and an FN A2 upper for it. The CAR upper has been 100% reliable and I've fired my best 200 yard offhand groups with it ever. I iniitially had some reliability problems with the FN, but after having Scott Medesha work on it, it's been reliable too.

At least as far as lowers go, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eagle.

Yup, I really like my Eagle Arms 20' M15A2 rifle.

Indeed. SAW used to stock them over 6 years ago. That's how I got addicted to them. But Ken and Armalite stop getting along somehow.

I've bought a number of Eagle lowers from Quantico arms over the years, all have been great.

I've got an Armlite / Eagle M15A4. Don't have a lot to compare it to, but I sure like it. I think I paid $799 or $899 for it (I forget).
