I have an EOTech that uses the AA batteries. On my CAR I always wanted the sight to mount further foreward. The battery compartment interferred with the handguard, keeping me from sliding it foreward. Now, I have M4 clone and its worse. The handguards are taller. Only two empty slots behind the EOTech (on flattop receiver). What are some handguard options that the battery compartment will fit over? I do not want to raise the EOTech on some mount.

Just take the top handguard half off. There may be something out there that I don't know about, but I'd say if you don't want a riser, your only other bet is to change to a tubular handguard. The plain ones that DPMS may be low enough profile to allow the EOTech to clear, thoug I'm not sure. You could also just use a railed hanguard and mount it there.

Sorry if that's not what you're looking for, but it's all I got.

Wouldn't the Larue Eotech mount solve this problem?
