There have been a few threads about this, you can do a search.
Short story is that the magnifier will not be backwards compatible with previous EOTechs. I am not sure if it will work with an Aimpoint. Seydou ETA: EOTech 553 |

You really don't need an EOTECH MAG. The AIMPOINT 3X works perfectly with an Eotech. I actually like the 3X mag with my Eotech more than my Aimpoint

Yea, that is kind of the conclusion I have come to. Did a search and found the EOtech mangnifyer thread. Interesting hardware they are comming out with, but not going to be able to retro fit existing EOTechs.
Hopefully with some competition on the market (EOTech vs Aimpoint) for magnified opticts the Aimpoint mag price will come down. The guys at Plastics Plus say high !!!! Looking forward to the EOTech 512 I ordered last week form you at NWTACTICAL |
