All, I would like to put an EOTECH 512 on my top forward of the A2 carry handle. If any of you have this setup, please post pics and let me know how it works out for you.
I especially want to know if you use a quick mount or attach it straight to the rail. I have a Knights rail.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody has ever mounted an EOTECH forward / over the barrel? No pics?

I put the 553 on the Daniel Defense 12.0 FSP handguard once, and a TA31F behind it to make it into a magnifier, just to see if it could be done. I didn't use any loctite to secure the handguard ring, still smarting from my frustrations when I did loctite my KAC FF RAS MRE and had to remove it later, blow torch, oven baking, all the fun. Anyway the handguard wasn't secure enough and I could see from the TA31F that the 553 had moved a little after shots.

My 553 stays on the receiver now

I would keep it on the upper. However, you can mount it so it overlaps over the rail. Here I have a LaRue riser for 1/3 co-witness and my 512 hangs out over the rail.

How do you afford that stuff at such a young age? You must have cool parents.

I have used an EOTECH mounted on a FF tube just behind the front sight. It does work better in some ways, but it throws the balance way off.

Not exactly what you wanted, but you get the idea. Not my pictures also but from other members. So I would not know what the pros and cons of the setup would be.

Not with an A2 handle, but the LMT fixed BUIS should count for something. I have it set up as a direct cowitness.

My Tikes got a kick out of seeing themselves on the AR15.com website.
