So, I could turn the light completely off to train in daylight, and still use my vfg??

The "C" SW02 Click Switch TailCap can be disabled so that the Click switch can not activate the light by "locking it out":
Just like the SW01 Pressure Switch and the standard flashligh LockOut TailCaps, if you back the TailCap off it will disable the light.
