Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Does the SCAR-H use SR25 mags?

What kinds of magazine does the SCAR H use?  Is it the SR25 or a proprietary one?  If it is proprietary would it be possible to build an AR10 type rifle that accepts the same magazines?  Anyone know anything about the SCAR H magazine?

Aren't they supposed to use "modified" FAL mags or did I just dream that?

Look at the very last paragraph HERE.

Mk.16 SCAR-L rifle will use improved M16-type magazines, made of steel; Mk.17 SCAR-H will use proprietary 20-round magazines in 7.62x51 NATO chambering, or standard AK-type magazines in proposed 7.62x39 M43 chambering. Current prototypes of SCAR rifles do not have bayonet mounts, and, probably, will never have one.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know of any info reguarding a civi version of the SCAR? Google didn't come up with much.

Your guess is as good as ours right now....

We should have a "go" / "no-go" for a civy version at SHOT next month. Fingers crossed.

Just watch the forums around mid Feb.... we should know something by then.
