I'm looking for a light that I can mount QD style that has a bezel in it that won't give out under recoil. What are my options?

Hmmm, maybe I should rethink this then.

I want a light to mount on my AR railed forend that doesn't have the remote switch, is 6 volt, won't shoot iself to death, and is capable of QD. Surefire prefered, but open to other brands.

I used a Surefire M2 on my YHM forend with ARMS QD ring (with 1" insert) and it worked very well. Recently however I have swapped the M2 for an M3, lots more light. After about 1500 rounds at the range & carrying it on duty, no problems what so ever. I just use the push button "clickie" switch, no remote. I only use 1 ring on the flashlight. Hope this helps.

What's the story with those m95/m96 surefires?

This would appear to be exacly what I'm looking for, but I can't find any info on it.

What's something like the M95 with the QD lever go for? I found one link with a pic of a mount with thumbscrews & they wanted $275. Why is it so much more?

I'll go ahead and chime in and say don't hesitate one second to deal with BFL. I got my setup from them and was absolutely amazed at their service and prices. Great company to do business with.

OK, now I think I'm starting to get it, but what is the difference between the M952C and the M952P?
There appears to be something different going on with the button at the back.

M952P

M952C

I must have either out of spec Weaver rings or out of spec G2 because 1 in. ring won't work. Just got a Weaver (actual manufacture) 1 in. scope rings and it takes a good snap to put the ring on top of the G2 and there is a 3/16 in. or so gap between the upper and lower ring. The screws that come with ring are too short to connect and really the gap should be much smaller - about 3/32 in. or less.

Perhaps 30 mm rings would be better.... YMMV

The Weaver rings will definately cause problems for you if you use it with a G2. I've seen cheap Simmons rings work well. The Weaver rings don't have enough room to play with. Besides, the standard Weaver rings are junk anyway.
