Hey guys just wondering if you know if an ACR barrel could be used in AR or not. Obviously without the ACR gas system.  I know they are similar but what is different?  The deal is I may have just bought 20 ACR barrels thinking they were AR barrels.  They don't have all the piston setup on them just the gas block.  I don't have them with me, it was an auction and I won't know until tomorrow if I got them or not.  I'm a little stressed because I dropped quite a bit of coin on them(if I won them) thinking I would use them in builds and sell them to friends.  Now I'm not sure if there would be a use for them.

No the barrel extensions are different. Will not fit on a Ar. Plus if they have had the gas hole drilled. I think it would be over sized. But you never know what you could do with them. Possible pistion conversion project barrels?

Wasn't the Masada supposed to use a stripped AR barrel with a piston block?

well. this don't sound good. hopefully there are some ACR owners out there wanting spares.

Well I didn't end up winning the bid.  So thats good.  Makes me wonder if the one who won thought they where AR also.   However I still would like to know exactly what the differences are because from all the reading I've done it seems they are the same except two things.  The ACR has a smaller gas port and an extra spot turned down on the barrel for clearance of the piston support.

Dang I was all excited reading this thread until I saw you didn't win...I would have taken a few off you hands.  Boy in light of all the panic buying I wish I would have taken the 2000 I spent on this ACR and bought 3 bushmasters for 700 ea a year ago.  I can't find spare parts anywhere for this
