i might be stupid..but according to this picture i have both markings on the side of the lower....is AR-15 a Colt brand ? then an AR-15 can be a M16..:)

Well, a link's better than nothing.  Pictures from Yahoo don't always work.

This looks like an early M16A1.  Colt's model designation is AR15 and when the Military adopted the rifle, they designated them as the M16, so essentially they really were the same rifle except for the full auto.
