Hey folks,

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but I searched and couldn't find anything (here on the forums, and via Google).

Can anyone explain what the difference is between 7075-T6 aluminum and 7076-T6 aluminum with regards to AR15 forged lower receivers ?

Thanks.

one of those links doesn't work without the cookie you got but from glancing through the spec sheets:

7075 has a bit of chromium in it, and appears to be slightly higher tensile strength and slightly less dense.

I'd guess, however, that the 83000 psi vs 74000 psi difference in tensile strengths will not likely ever be meaningful in the lower reciever of an AR.

Such a thing does not exist.  You are worring about a typo.
