I am thinking about deer hunting this year with my AR ... I know the .223 is a light round ...Who makes a round that can knock one down ... at about 100yds.

Thanks

Folks around here suggest using the Winchester 64gr power points. I have no idea where to find them.

Here's a LINK to a discussion last month on this topic.

I've shot 2 muleys one at around a 100yards and one at 270yards with a 222rem. I shot them both in the neck, and they both dropped without a step. These were Rem 50 gr SP. I wouldn't recomend this caliber or 223 unless you are very confident your weapon and conditions(like no wind). This was a 3-9 scoped single shot that I have shot a lot at small varmints In the case of the deer, I was aiming for the spine. neither shot exited the neck. There was also hardly any meat damage

Well I don't know for deer but for Angry Russian Boar you need EXTREME SHOCK ammunition, the shaped charge core will really help
